Bryce Coop’s professional journey has been defined by adaptability, resilience, and a commitment to making a lasting impact. Starting as a track athlete at Western Colorado University, Bryce pursued majors in sports medicine and graphic design. However, life’s unexpected turns led him to explore new opportunities. After deciding to leave school, family friends introduced him to a career path in accessibility consulting—one that would change the course of his professional life.

His first role in this field began at a well-respected ADA consulting company. It was here that Bryce gained his foundational knowledge of accessibility, developed his skill set, and formed valuable relationships with the people he still collaborates with today. He quickly became adept at the Self-Evaluation and Transition Plan (SETP) process, from initial data collection through to reporting and analysis.

Always seeking growth, Bryce decided to take on new challenges by joining a small, emerging firm. Although the firm’s journey was short-lived, the experience was invaluable, exposing Bryce to different aspects of accessibility consulting and further sharpening his expertise. After the firm dissolved, Bryce took time to explore different roles, working in the service industry throughout Colorado Springs and gaining fresh perspectives. A pivotal moment came when Bryce transitioned into a role as a service technician for assistive technology. In this position, he worked directly with individuals who rely on accessibility solutions in their daily lives, which deepened his understanding of the importance of inclusive design.

This experience brought Bryce back to his roots in accessibility consulting, where he now has a renewed passion and fresh insights. Today, as a key member of Accessibility Consulting Partners, Inc. (ACP), Bryce continues to leverage his knowledge and experience to ensure accessibility for all.

Personal Note:

I’ve always been motivated by a desire to help others, and that motivation has guided every step of my career. As an athlete, my organized sports career was cut short due to head injuries, which forced me to reevaluate my future. This turning point led me to major in sports medicine and, later, to pursue a career in accessibility consulting.

Working as a service technician for assistive technology was a transformative experience for me. I had the opportunity to see firsthand how accessibility—or the lack of it—affects people’s lives. This experience gave me a deeper appreciation for the work we do as accessibility consultants. When I approach a project, I think about the real people who will benefit from the environments we help create. It’s not just about compliance; it’s about improving lives.

Joining ACP has allowed me to channel this passion into meaningful work. I’m proud to be part of a team that is committed to making the world a more accessible place, and I’m excited about the impact we’re making together.

Fun Fact:

In addition to my professional work, I recently moved to the Triangle area in North Carolina. Staying active is a huge part of my life, and I continue to play sports like hockey, basketball, and flag football in my local community. Whether on the court or on the field, I love staying connected to the things that inspire me—both in my personal and professional life.
